John Lutz, DVM — Chief of Staff
Dr. John Lutz, our Chief of Staff, was born in Lima, Ohio. He graduated with honors with a BA degree in Zoology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and went on to earn a DVM degree from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1982.
Between 1982 and 1986, Dr. Lutz practiced in Gownada, NY, Langdon's Town & Country Veterinary Clinicin Meadville, PA and Western Reserve Animal Clinic in Pierpont, OH. In October 1986, he purchased Huber Animal Hospital from Dr. Frank Huber and renamed it Wintergreen Animal Hospital. In October 2004, he moved Wintergreen Animal Hospital to a newly built facility just one mile south of its old location where it remains today.
In his spare time, Dr. Lutz enjoys hiking, camping and snow skiing. His family includes his wife, Dr. Debra Lutz, and their son Danny. He also shares his home with his two cats and two dogs.
Amanda Jones, DVM
Dr. Amanda Jones was born in Virginia but grew up in Georgia, eventually attending the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated with honors in 2003. She, her husband, and the rest of the family — four cats and two dogs — have lived in Erie since 2006 when she joined the Wintergreen Animal Hospital team.
Dr. Jones has a special interest in emergency and internal medicine. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her rescued horses, Charlie and Love.
Carrie Kean, DVM
Dr. Carrie Kean was born in Crainesville, PA where she still resides today, with her mixed-breed rescue dog and orange tabby cat. She received her undergraduate degree from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania and earned her DVM degree from Ross University.
Before joining the Wintergreen Animal Hospital team in April 2017, Dr. Kean practiced as an associate veterinarian at Kinzua Veterinary Clinic in Warren, PA. Her special interests include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry and ultrasound. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, camping, kayaking and fishing.
