Unfortunately, as our companion animals live longer healthier lives, more of them are being diagnosed with various forms of cancer. Some cancers are best treated with chemotherapy.

Canine Chemotherapy Patient at Wintergreen Animal HospitalWe offer various forms of chemotherapy at our office, as well as the moral support both you and your pet need to fight this disease.

Most of our chemo patients handle their treatments with little to no side effects and actually enjoy their chemotherapy appointments! In fact, it is not unusual for our cancer patients to pull on their leashes and drag their owners into the building for their treatments. We go out of our way to make the visits fun and relaxing for the pets.

Side-effects common with people undergoing chemotherapy are actually rare for pets, such as hair loss or nausea.
